What should I do if Compair Insurance is not yet available in my state?

At Compair Insurance, we are continually expanding our services to bring our insurance comparison platform to more states. If we are not yet licensed to operate in your state, we encourage you to reach out to us at support@compairins.com . Your interest helps us prioritize future expansion, and we’ll notify you as soon as we’re available in your area. Thank you for your patience as we work to serve customers nationwide!

Why use Compair Insurance?

Compair Insurance simplifies the insurance shopping and buying process. We share the information you provide with our vetted, established insurers and retrieve the best rates and coverage on the market. You only need to submit your data once to get multiple quotes you can Compair to choose the best policy for you. We do not sell your data, spam you, and we prioritize your privacy.

What information do you need from me?

You will need to provide the following:
  • Personal details such as your birthdate, driver’s license number*, and residential address
  • Driving and insurance history for all drivers included in the policy
  • Vehicle details for all cars, including the VIN*
  • Payment information (when locking in a policy with the selected insurer or signing up for our Quote Refresh service)
If this is your first time obtaining a policy, the insurance provider will typically require an initial payment before finalizing and accepting the policy. *You can receive a quote without providing a VIN or driver’s license number, but these will be required to purchase the policy. Your quote may change once a driver’s license/VIN is provided based on new information.

How do I unsubscribe from promotional emails?

You can unsubscribe by going into your My Account page and selecting the option to unsubscribe.

Why do I need to provide so much information?

Different insurers request different information about you and the coverages you want. To collect everything required, we designed our form to capture all necessary data for our providers to accurately quote your policy. It may seem long, but quoting two insurance companies individually takes more time than using Compair Insurance once.

How does Compair Insurance make money?

Compair Insurance earns revenue in two ways. First, when customers choose to purchase a policy through our platform, the insurance company may pay us a standard commission for connecting them with a new customer. This commission is already built into insurance pricing and does not increase the price you pay.

Second, customers can optionally subscribe to Quote Refresh, our renewal monitoring service. This service automatically checks your policies for better rates and alerts you when switching could save you money.

Our goal is simple: help you avoid overpaying for insurance while keeping the process fast and transparent.

How can I lower my premium?

There are various ways a premium can be lowered such as reducing coverage to the lowest allowable limit, increasing your deductible, installing protective devices, bundling with other policies (i.e., home and auto), improving your credit score, allowing an app to track driving habits, and paying for your premium in full. Other factors that can affect your premium include claims made, accidents or traffic violations, and location of housing.

Am I able to change my coverage after going through the quoting process?

Yes. After you receive your list of quotes and select the quote you would like to move forward with, you will be redirected to the selected insurer’s finalize and review page. Here, you can make any updates needed before fully securing (binding) your policy.

How long does it take to receive a quote?

Quotes are usually received within seconds from time of submission but can take longer if information is missing or further validation is needed.

Can I call in over the phone to secure a policy?

Compair Insurance was designed as a fully functional web-based tool allowing customers to obtain competitive quotes without the need to speak with a representative. This allows us to provide our service to you for free. If assistance is needed, you can always reach out to us at support@compairins.com.

Will I get a quote back from each insurer Compair Insurance partners with?

While Compair Insurance partners with many insurers, you may not receive a quote back from every company due to several factors such as state eligibility, driving history, claims, or low credit history.

Will my credit be pulled?

Our insurance providers may do a “soft” credit check, but this does not affect your credit score in any way. A “soft” pull helps to properly quote your policy based on insurer requirements.

What products/services does Compair Insurance offer?

We currently offer Home, Auto, Renters, and Pet insurance and are working to expand our offerings to better support our customers’ needs.

What is the cost to submit a quote through Compair Insurance?

There is no cost to use Compair Insurance.

How can I update my policy information once purchased?

Policy changes can be made directly with the insurer selected during the insurance shopping process.

How do I make my policy payment?

Payments are made directly to the insurer selected during the quoting process. Most insurers allow you to pay monthly or pay a policy in full.

Can I switch to a new insurer if my current policy is still active or recently renewed?

Yes. The insurance provider selected through the quoting process will assist with terminating your previous policy and ensuring you are refunded for any outstanding payments if applicable.

How do I file a claim?

Claims can be filed directly with the insurance provider selected through the quoting process.

What is your Quote Refresh all about?

Our Quote Refresh is a service we offer to save you time and money. Every six months, we shop our vetted insurance partners to supply you with updated competitive quotes based on the previous data you provided to us.

Keep in mind there is no obligation to change your provider or coverage.
With our Quote Refresh, you never have to fill out an insurance form again — all you need to do is update us on any changes to your information, and we will take it from there (don’t worry, we will remind you!).

What happens if I update my quotes myself before my scheduled Quote Refresh?

If you submit updated quotes on your own before your scheduled Quote Refresh, that update will generally count as your latest renewal review. In most cases, we would not need to run another full Quote Refresh right away.

We recommend letting Quote Refresh handle your scheduled review when possible. This helps us deliver the full value of the service, including continuous renewal monitoring, rate increase alerts, a pre-refresh email to confirm accurate quote details, proactive savings notifications, and updated quote options before renewal if your current rate increases.

What payment methods do you accept?

We currently accept Apple Pay, Google Pay, Cash App, Amazon Pay, Link, American Express, Discover, Mastercard, and Visa.

What if I sign up weeks after receiving my first quotes?

You can enroll in Quote Refresh at any time. Your first refresh will always occur 5 months after the last date your received your quotes.

For example, if you received your last quotes at Month 0 and enroll 3 months later, your first Quote Refresh will take place 2 months after you sign up — allowing you to review your options before renewal pricing is locked in.

Note: All other refreshes except the first will be 6 months apart.

Where can I update my payment information or view invoices?

You can manage your billing details anytime from your My Account page. Under the Quote Refresh tab, click the Manage Billing button to open your secure billing portal. From there, you can update your credit card information and view or download your invoices and receipts.

Where is your privacy policy located?

At Compair Insurance, we value you as a customer and hold your personal information to the highest standards. We will never sell your data or spam you, but we will share it with our insurance providers for quoting purposes as this is necessary to provide our service. You can access our Privacy Policy here.

How do I cancel a policy selected through Compair Insurance?

Policy cancellations are handled directly with the insurer selected through the quoting process.

What happens if I cancel my Quote Refresh?

The Quote Refresh can be cancelled at any time by going to your My Account page and clicking the “Cancel” button. If you cancel before your payment goes through, your refresh will not be processed. If your payment is successful and you cancel before we run your refresh, you will still receive that paid refresh cycle. If you cancel after your refresh has already been completed, no future refreshes will be scheduled.

What is your refund policy?

You can cancel the Quote Refresh service at any time before the service is provided to you. Once the service has been provided, refunds are not available. Don’t worry — we will send you a reminder email about 2 weeks before the Quote Refresh process begins so you are not charged unexpectedly.
